If you are in Portugal an absolute must is to eat chicken piripiri. We have found a really good place for this close to Tavira and Cabanas. We can recommend going here, and if you come in the summer months you have to book a table. In the summer you can sit outside too. The name of the restaurant is Xicken Piripiri. You find it on the EN 125 – -Caiana. If you come from Tavira and going towards Cabanas, it is just a little bit outside of Cabanas, on your left hand side. The opposite of the entrance for the Golf club Quinta da Ria.

They have opened hours for lunch between 12.00-15.00 and for dinner from 19.00-23.00 They have closed on Tuesdays. You can also order take away.

On the menu they have several options and specialties but we always goes for their chicken. Always grilled to perfection. It comes with a mixed salad and you can choose from rice or potatoes. This is the only place and time where I eat potatoes. They have home made round very thin sliced potatoes that taste divine, really hard to resist!

We can´t forget there Sangrias. I think it’s the best I ever had, and then we have lived in the Sangrias home country. You can choose here also between different types but we always goes for the one with red wine.

If you like desserts, this is the place they have a big selection of home made desserts.
