One of our absolute favorite places for lunch/tappas/dinner is a small restaurant just by the river Guadiana, just opposite the marina at Avenida Republica in Vila Real de Santo Antonio.

It is owned by a couple that has migrated from Lisbon to here, Bia is doing all the cooking offering traditional food that is extremely delicious, before deciding what to eat it’s  alway better to ask for the offering of the day. Carlos is taking care of the drinks as well as the atmosphere and the walls are decorated with his colorful and nice paintings that is also for sale for a decent price. I strongly recommend for drinking the sangria that is fantastic specially a worm summer day and the house wine Vila Real is also excellent.
