Santa Luzia is a small picturesque village just west of Tavira in Algarve fronting the sea and the island of Tavira and is famous for octopus. Along the river the street is full of different restaurants, all of them have octopus different styles on the menu and if somebody presumably does not want octopus there are other options as well. The process of serving an octopus is what I understand very time consuming, it is very important that it is tender and not chewy, something that the restaurants in Santa Luzia masters to perfection.
We have tried different restaurants but our preference is “R&M By Telma”, a small family restaurant with good service and well-cooked food with rich flavors. At our last visit Kristina ordered “Polvo a Lagareiro with vegetables” and I “Feijoada de Polvo with rice”.
